Thanksgiving Events for Kids in New York

When you think of Thanksgiving in New York, what is the first thing that pops into mind? The Macy’s Parade, right? Well, other than Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, there is a myriad of activities you can enjoy with your family in the Big Apple. Our New York airport transportation specialists have therefore taken the initiative to compile a short list of kid-friendly activities scheduled for this year’s Thanksgiving period in New York.

Before we dive into that, we encourage you to consider employing the services of our Bronx Car Service for all your transportation needs. Treat the little ones to a comfortable and luxurious ride and make their Thanksgiving experience much more memorable. Furthermore, Thanksgiving is a time for spending quality time with family, takings the time to reconnect, and stopping for a moment to appreciate all the good in your lives, especially one another. Therefore, let our professionally trained chauffeurs handle all the driving and navigation for you as you focus on enjoying the company of those you love and sharing in the anticipation of arriving at any one of these exciting events.

Chef's Challenge

Head over to the Taste Buds Kitchen in Midtown West with the little ones any time between the 21st and 24th of November where the kids will get to take charge of this year’s Thanksgiving. This two-day course will see little chefs learn how to make various Thanksgiving delicacies with a kiddy twist; imagine sweet tater-tots and turkey cupcakes. The course has been reserved for kids between the ages of 9 and 13 and goes for only $195 per little head.

Cranksgiving NYC

This event will take place simultaneously in several locations around New York on the 17th of November. Pull those bikes out of the garage and take part in one of the most unique Thanksgiving events in New York alongside the kids. This is a fundraiser event that encourages families to work together in a race to complete a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt involves collecting food items that are ultimately donated to the Bowery Mission. Participants are encouraged to bring about $20 each for purchasing food items as well as a bike lock for each bicycle to guarantee bike safety. Have fun while taking part in helping families in need during this holiday period; last year over 1,900lbs worth of food was collected.  Head over to the Hudson Yards Park at 1 pm for registration; the event kicks off at 2 pm, and people of all ages can participate.

New York City Turkey Trot

Head over to Roosevelt Island on the 24th of November and take part in some healthy fun with the kids after all the Thanksgiving feasting. You can either choose to take the 15K run or the 5K walk; either way Roosevelt Island offers majestic views of Manhattan and at the end of the race, each participant will receive sweet cinnamon rolls. For the smallest kids, a kids’ dash will be available where adults will also be allowed to push strollers. Ticket prices for this event range between $40 and $60.
