Labor Day Weekend Events in Long Island

Labor Day has become a national tradition ever since its inception in the late 19th Century. Although, Labor Day also serves as a reminder that summer is finally over, there is one bit of consolation that is worth holding on to in Long island; you get an extended weekend packed with fun activities. Since there are so many events set to go down this coming weekend, it can get a little confusing and you may be wondering which events to attend and which ones to forgo. Well, do not worry, our limo service Long Island representatives have taken the time to compile a list of what we consider to be some of the most exciting Labor Day events set to happen in Long Island over the weekend.

You may also want to consider employing the services of a reputable car service like our Bronx car service for all your transportation needs during such a busy and hectic period, when everyone will be out and about enjoying their last moments of summer with friends and family. Let our professionally trained and knowledgeable chauffeurs handle all the navigation and parking as you and your companions enjoy the luxuries and amenities of our vehicles and as you are transferred safely and promptly to and from any of these amazing Long Island events.

Tanker Weekend

Tanker Weekend is an event that is to be held in honor of soldiers who served in the country’s armor division. The event is specifically dedicated to soldiers who operated WW II Sherman tanks, the Cold War M48 Patton tanks, Pacific Theater Stuart tanks, M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyers, and other armored military vehicles. You will get to see some of these tanks in action, which should be pretty exhilarating if you are a military enthusiast or are actually in the armed forces. This two-day event will take place between the 1st and 2nd of September at the Museum of American Armor in Old Bethpage. Ticket prices go for $13 for adults, $8 for children between 5 and 12, and completely free for children below 5, senior citizens, and veterans.

Our Backyard: Seasonal Water Exhibit

The Seasonal Water Exhibit will be taking place at the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City between the 31st of August and the 2nd of September everyday between 10 am and 5 pm. This kid friendly event will allow the little ones to enjoy a sensory outdoor garden, lush plants, a water table and numerous interactive elements including a hand pump that creates summer showers, a pirate ship wheel, a pretend fishing area, boat race options, and evaporation art. Tickets go for only $14 per child.

Wings, Wheels, and Firetrucks

This event is set to go down between the 1st and 2nd of September at the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale, every day between 10 am and 5 pm. Here, you will get to enjoy displays of over 25 vintage firetrucks that were in operation in Long Island in the past. You will also get to enjoy vintage vehicles, aircrafts, and radio-controlled model planes. Admissions will be going for only $15 for adults, $6 for children between 6 and 12, and free for kids of ages 5 and younger.
