Here is a list of some of the best, family-friendly events and activities scheduled to go down in Long Island this season.

Brookhaven Town Holiday Spectacular

The Brookhaven Holiday Spectacular will take place at the Holtsville Ecology Site along Buckley Road in Holtsville from the 1st to the 6th of December. For a week, visitors will get to enjoy this amazing, walk-through light show where they will be mesmerized by spectacular light displays. The kids will also have a chance to get their pictures taken with Santa as well as take participate in caring for over 100 animals that live at the Ecology Site.

Eglevsky Ballet: The Nutcracker

Visit the Tilles Center Concert Hall along Northern Boulevard in Brookville on the 15th and 16th of December, from 5 pm on both days. The story of Clara and her Nutcracker is one of the most iconic Christmas stories. This year, get to experience the Eglevsky Ballet’s production of the tale at the Tilles Centre Concert Hall. The performance will feature Unity Phelan and Jared Angle from the New York City Ballet as well as actor Chris Comfort. Music will be performed by the Massapequa Philharmonic Orchestra. This is bound to be a real treat for the entire family.

Lace Up Your Skates and Hit the Ice

Ice skating is a fantastic winter activity for both kids and their parents. Choose Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn for a great experience on ice, this being voted the best outdoor 200-ft skating rink in Long Island.

Holiday Lights Show

More than 60 lighted displays offer a thrilling experience at the Long Island Sports Park. Some displays reach as high as 3 stories to the delight of the visitors. The Lights Show is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 5 pm. Tickets are $23 per car. Little ones will love this experience.
