Exciting Independence Day Events Scheduled to Go Down in New York this Year

One of the things that makes summer so special is how it kicks off - with Independence Day celebrations. Every year, New York is flooded with Independence Day-themed events and festivals and it can become a little confusing which ones to attend and which ones to forgo. Well, this year you have a partner in our LaGuardia Airport Shuttle Service; we have put together a list of some of our favorite events scheduled for the impending holiday period and we hope they help you kick off your summer in style.

Also, being the largest and most popular city in the United States, New York can get pretty hectic around major holidays and we don’t expect this one to be any different. For a hassle-free holiday, we recommend the services of our Bronx car service for your transportation needs. Forget all about navigating heavy traffic, struggling to find parking spaces, and trying to figure out routes to various events. Let our knowledgeable and professional chauffeurs do all the driving, you just focus on enjoying the comfort of our vehicles as you are safely transferred to and from any one of these awesome events.

Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest

Head over to Nathan’s Famous on Surf Avenue in Brooklyn on the 4th of July for some family friendly fun. Here you will get to witness numerous competitors with highly expandable stomachs eat as many wieners as they can at the International Hotdog eating Festival at the delight of hundreds of screaming onlookers. Competitors don’t get to use any ketchup or mustard, which makes it even more difficult to swallow, literally. This is supposed to go on for ten minutes straight, and at the end of ten minutes the person who has eaten the most wieners is crowned the champion.

Circle Line Fourth of July Evening Cruise

The cruise will set sail from pier 83 in midtown at 5pm on the 4th of July, coming to an end at 10 pm. From the water, you will have a spectacular view of the amazing Macy’s Fireworks Show in the East River. This five-hour cruise will gently guide you down the Hudson River towards the Statue of Liberty, where the fireworks will light up the night. You will also be entertained by a live DJ and get to enjoy a scrumptious buffet dinner if you get hungry. Additionally, there will be an open bar with an all-you-can-drink wine and beer menu, and for an extra $80, you will have access to premium liquor. Tickets for this cruise range between $180 and $280.

Travis Parade

The Travis Parade is set to go down on Victory Boulevard in Staten Island. The best thing about enjoying a holiday in Staten Island is the small-town vibe you get from it, an escape from the hassle and bustle of regular city life. Visit Travis Village and take part in an Independence Day parade that has been held since 1911, making it the oldest 4th of July parade in the United States. We recommend that you take a ferry there and get a glimpse of the statue of liberty to really put you in freedom-mode.
