If you want to make your family’s Easter celebration special, attend one of the events happening in Long Island for the holiday. Here are a few of the area’s exciting Easter events and traditions.
Spring Egg Hunt at Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium
If your kids love the aquarium, make sure to swing by this fun egg hunt. The event takes place on April 15, and kids from three to eight can search for eggs in the general hunting grounds. After finding their share of eggs, they can continue to investigate the aquarium. Cold Spring Harbor has many exciting sights and exhibitions, including hatchling turtles and 30 species of freshwater fish.
Woodbury Country Club Easter Brunch Buffet and Egg Hunt
Spend a fun-filled Easter morning at the Woodbury Country Club, which hosts an Easter egg hunt every year. The festivities also include a petting zoo, where kids can pet real live bunnies! The event is also famous for its Easter Bunny brunch. Families will find an excellent assortment of seasonal foods, ranging from waffles to a salad bar. Reservations are required, so act fast if you’d like to join in the festivities.
Port Jefferson’s 2017 Easter Parade and Egg Hunt
There’s nothing quite so festive as an old fashioned Easter Parade. You and your family can put on your Easter bonnets and come down to the Port Jefferson Village Center on Easter Sunday. There will also be an egg hunt held at Harborfront Park at 12:30 pm. No kid will walk away empty handed. It’s sure to be a fun event for the whole family.
Benner’s Farm Egg Hunt
On Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th, Benner’s Farm will be hosting egg hunts. The event is open to kids two and older, and the admission fee gives kids free roam of the farm. This means that they get to check out the petting zoo! Remember to bring a basket or bag so that your kids have a place to store the eggs they find. Everyone is sure to enjoy taking a trip to this old-fashioned, 15-acre farm.
Long Island Aquarium Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt
This year, the Long Island Aquarium is hosting an Easter Brunch. The buffet-style meal is held in the Sea Star Ballroom, which overlooks the water. Kids can also spend time making crafts or taking a tour throughout the aquarium. The Penguin Egg Hunt is held on Easter Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm, and it gives families the chance to explore the many exhibits and win fun prizes like vouchers and rides. Reservations are required to attend the Easter Brunch and the Penguin Egg Hunt, so interested parents should book their tickets soon!
