4th of July events in Long Island 2017

Long Island is once again celebrating the Fourth of July with grand fireworks displays, parades, music, and entertainment. Several of these events are fun for the entire family with contests, swimming in the ocean, and great food.

Stars over Montauk Fireworks

This annual fireworks show sets its display off over the ocean in West Montauk Village. Considered a highlight of the summer, it draws people in from all around to Umbrella Beach. Come early to grab a spot on the shore and enjoy some time along the water’s edge. The show begins at 9:00 pm. It is free and fun for all ages.

Astoria Bank July 4th Fireworks at Jones Beach State Park

Jones Beach State Park plays host to the Astoria Bank July 4th Fireworks Show. The spectacle begins at 9:30, and the fireworks are set to music with a variety of patriotic tunes. Prime seats are on the Field 4 beachfront. Arrive earlier in the day to enjoy some swimming, fishing, or strolling along the boardwalk.

Music and Fireworks in Glen Cove

Visitors gather together at the Robert M. Finley Middle School at 9:30 am to decorate their bikes, wagons, scooters, and strollers followed by a parade to show off their handy work. It wraps up by Glen Cove’s City Hall with crafts, refreshments, and music. Awards are given for most original, most patriotic, and best group. That evening the Northwinds Symphonic Band plays at Morgan Memorial Park followed by fireworks.

Star Spangled Blast at Bald Hill

The Star Spangled Blast at Bald Hill in Farmington includes a concert on the July 4th in the Penny Saver Amphitheater. This family-friendly event is free and fun for all ages. The fireworks display begins at 9:30 pm.

Village of Asharoken Fireworks

The Village of Asharoken Fireworks is unique because the display is set off from a barge located on the sound side of Asharoken Avenue. This event is held on July 4th. It is free, and all ages are welcome. Fireworks are launched between 9:15 pm and 10:00 pm.

The Village of Valley Stream Annual Fireworks Show on July 4

The Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce sponsors this event that begins at 6:30 pm with entertainment and music before the fireworks display. Fireworks start at sundown in Fireman’s Field. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate.

Long Island Ducks’ Postgame Fireworks

It doesn’t get any more American than baseball and fireworks. From July 1st through July 4th there will be fireworks shows each night following the minor-league Ducks’ home games. The show is free to anyone that purchases a ticket to the game.
